Privacy policy
What this site collects, why, and what you can ask me to do with it.
This site is run by KW Consulting LLC, a Maryland company owned by Kate Webb. When this page says “I” or “me”, that’s who it means. If you have a question about anything here, email kate@kwconsults.com and you’ll get an answer from me.
What I collect
When you book a call. Your name, email, and anything you choose to write in the booking form, so I can hold the call and prepare for it. Bookings run through HoneyBook. If we go on to work together, proposals, contracts and invoices run through HoneyBook too.
When you use the Missed business calculator. If you ask for the full breakdown, your first name, email, and the answers you gave, so I can send you your results and a few follow-up emails about them. These are handled by Kit, my email provider. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and one click takes you off the list.
When you email me. Your message and email address, kept in my inbox so I can keep the conversation going.
When you visit. Google Analytics records things like which pages you viewed, roughly where you are (country or city, not your address), what device you used, and how you found the site. It also counts clicks on the booking button, so I can see which pages are useful. It uses cookies to do this. I can’t see who you are from it.
What I don’t do
I don’t sell your information, rent it, or hand it to anyone to market to you. I don’t add you to any list you didn’t ask to join. And I only use what you give me for the reason you gave it.
Who else handles it
A few services do the work behind the site, and each one only gets what it needs for its part:
- HoneyBook for booking calls, proposals, contracts and invoices
- Kit for the Missed business calculator emails
- Google Analytics for visit statistics
- Google Fonts for the typefaces on this site, which means your browser asks Google for them
- The company that hosts the site, which keeps standard server logs
These are US services, so your information is stored in the United States.
Cookies
This site uses cookies for Google Analytics. You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings and the site will still work. You can also opt out of Google Analytics on every site with Google’s opt-out browser add-on.
Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. There’s no agreed standard for how websites should respond to it, so this site doesn’t change what it does when it receives one. Blocking cookies or using the opt-out above still works.
How long I keep it
Booking details stay as long as we’re talking about working together, and for a reasonable time after in case you come back. Missed business calculator details stay until you unsubscribe or ask me to delete them. Analytics data is kept for Google Analytics’ standard period.
Your choices
You can ask me to show you what I have about you, correct it, or delete it. Email kate@kwconsults.com and I’ll do it within 30 days. Depending on where you live (California or the EU, for example), you may have extra rights under your local law, and I’ll honour them.
Children
This site is for businesses. It isn’t meant for anyone under 16, and I don’t knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If what the site collects changes, I’ll update this page and the date at the top.
